MEASURED QUARTERLY
Four numbers we publish every quarter
Taken from all 1,900 Fernwood sending accounts between October 2025 and September 2026, including the accounts that did badly.
98.4%
Median inbox placement across all sending domains, measured against seed accounts at Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo.
0.04%
Median spam complaint rate, against the 0.1% ceiling Gmail publishes for bulk senders.
11 min
Median time from starting an import to sending the first campaign, on an already verified domain.
1,900
Accounts sending on a Fernwood domain, up from 1,240 twelve months ago.
Method, raw counts and the accounts excluded are published in full at fernwood.com/deliverability-report.

6 min walkthrough
6 minute walkthrough, recorded on a live account.
Watch a 40,000 contact list move across in one afternoon
The walkthrough follows a real migration: importing 40,182 contacts, mapping 14 custom fields, rebuilding 6 automations and sending the first campaign on the new account.
Consent state, suppression lists and unsubscribe history all survive the import, so the first campaign sends against exactly the permissions the old platform held.
Three screens that replace the weekly reporting spreadsheet
Send to a 4,000 person segment in two clicks
Segments rebuild themselves as behaviour changes, so a list built on last quarter’s purchases is still current when you press send.
Personalised sends earn 31% more revenue per email
Merge fields pull from order history, browsing and lifecycle stage. Across 1,900 Fernwood accounts, campaigns using three or more merge fields earned 31% more revenue per email sent.
Pull up any of your 40,000 contacts in one search
Every contact record carries send history, opens, clicks, replies and any feedback they left, so support and marketing are reading the same page. Search returns a match in under 200ms across a 40,000 row list.
INTEGRATIONS
34 integrations, and 12 of them sync both ways
Orders, refunds and support tickets arrive on a five minute schedule, so a segment built on refund history is still accurate when you press send. Two way integrations write back too, which is how a purchase in Shopify closes an abandoned cart flow within the minute.
Email us about an integration
Building something custom: the REST API and outbound webhooks are on every plan, including Starter.
SWITCHING
What the price is based on
Contacts on your list. Sends are unlimited on every plan.
Contacts plus a monthly send quota, with overage billed per thousand.
Sending domains included at $89
Four, each with its own reputation and reporting.
One. Additional domains are billed at around $25 each per month.
Domain warm-up
A 21 day schedule we run for you, with placement checked daily.
Manual, or sold as a paid onboarding add-on.
Revenue attributed per campaign
In the campaign report, tied to order data from your store.
Needs a separate analytics tool and a tracking parameter convention.
Contract length
Monthly. Cancel from the billing screen without talking to anyone.
Twelve month minimum on most plans above the entry tier.
What you can export
Contacts, events, templates and automation definitions, as CSV and JSON, at any time.
Contacts only. Templates and automations stay behind.
Support response time
Four hours on Growth, one hour with a named contact on Scale.
Two to three business days on standard plans.
Provider names are withheld because their pricing pages change monthly and a screenshot dated today would be wrong by the time you read it. Ask on a call and we will name them.
SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE
SOC 2 Type II, audited every year
The current report covers the twelve months to March 2026 and is available under NDA before you sign anything. Findings and management responses are included in full rather than summarised.
EU or US residency, chosen per account
Your contacts stay in Frankfurt or Virginia, picked at signup and not moved afterwards. Every subprocessor is named with its location and its purpose at fernwood.com/subprocessors, and we give 30 days notice before adding one.
SSO, SCIM and a twelve month audit log
Okta, Entra ID and Google Workspace on the Scale plan, with SCIM removing access the same hour someone leaves. Every export, template change and send is logged with the user and the timestamp.
Encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. The DPA, the subprocessor list and the penetration test summary are at fernwood.com/trust.
What changed for three teams in their first 90 days
Rated 4.9 out of 5 across 1,206 reviews.
We moved 62,000 contacts across on a Saturday and inbox placement went from 87% to 98.1% inside the first month.
Priya Raghunathan
Head of Retention, Loomfield Coffee
Cutting the list to the 11,000 people who had opened something in 90 days lifted revenue per send by 34% and took our complaint rate to 0.02%.
Marcus Enfield
Growth Lead, Bellhaven Supply
Six automations that took two people a week to maintain now run themselves, and we won back 1,240 lapsed customers last quarter.
Yuki Tanabe
Lifecycle Manager, Northstar Optics
Three plans, priced on contacts rather than sends
Every plan sends as much as you like. The only thing that moves the bill is crossing a contact tier, and the billing screen tells you three weeks before that happens.

BEFORE YOU SWITCH
The six questions that come up on every first call
If yours is not here, hello@fernwood.com reaches somebody who has run a migration, not a ticket queue.
What does this actually cost us at 60,000 contacts?
$249 a month on Scale, which covers up to 150,000 contacts and unlimited sends. There is no per-send charge and no overage invoice, so the number does not move in a month when you send four campaigns instead of one. Annual billing takes 15% off. The only thing that changes the price is crossing a contact tier, and the billing screen tells you three weeks before that happens.
What happens to consent and unsubscribe history when we import?
Suppression lists, unsubscribe dates and the original opt-in source import as separate fields, and anybody marked unsubscribed on your old platform stays unsubscribed here. Before the first real campaign we send to a 500 person sample so you can compare bounce and complaint rates against your old numbers on the same list. If those numbers look wrong, nothing else sends.
How long until we can send our first campaign?
The median across the last 200 migrations is 11 minutes for an import under 25,000 contacts on a domain that is already verified. A brand new sending domain adds 21 days of warm-up before you should send at full volume, and you keep sending from your old platform while that runs, so the two never overlap in a way that hurts either reputation.
Where is our contact data stored, and who can reach it?
Frankfurt or Virginia, chosen at signup and not moved afterwards. Encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. Access inside Fernwood is role based and logged, support staff need a written request from you to open an account, and every subprocessor is named with its location at fernwood.com/subprocessors. The SOC 2 Type II report is available under NDA before you pay anything.
What happens if we want to leave?
Billing is monthly and cancels from the billing screen without a call or a retention offer. Contacts, events, templates and automation definitions all export to CSV and JSON at any time, including after cancellation, and the account stays readable for 90 days so you can pull anything you missed. There is no minimum term on Starter or Growth.
Who is responsible when inbox placement drops?
We watch placement per sending domain and open a ticket from our side when a seven day average falls under 95%, before you notice it. On Scale a named contact runs the investigation with you. The split is worth stating plainly: we own the infrastructure, the authentication and the warm-up, you own the list and the content, and the placement report says which of the two moved.
MIGRATION
01
Import, with consent intact
Point Fernwood at a CSV or connect your old platform directly. Contacts, custom fields, suppression lists and unsubscribe history come across in one pass, and the import report names every row it could not read and why.
About 20 minutes for 40,000 contacts
02
Verify the domain, start the warm-up
Four DNS records for SPF, DKIM and DMARC, then a 21 day schedule that raises your daily volume for you and checks placement against seed accounts every morning.
15 minutes of setup, then 21 days that run themselves
03
Rebuild the automations and send
The six flows most teams run come as templates you fill in. Anything custom is rebuilt with an engineer on a call, and the old platform stays live until you move the traffic across yourself.
An afternoon for six flows
If your first campaign is not out inside 14 days, the next three months are free.
This covers lists up to 150,000 contacts on a domain you already control. It is written into the order form rather than left as a claim on a landing page.
